We search for and use only the highest quality, most pure, natural ingredients in Maggie's Irish Crème skin care formulations. In today's market, the term "organic" is often applied to skin care products, even if only one out of many ingredients is actually organic. At Maggie's Irish Crème, we believe a product should not be labeled organic unless "all" of the ingredients are truly organically grown. Further, some products in the marketplace may use the words "natural" or "naturally derived" on the label, when in fact, they contain synthetic chemicals. Only natural ingredients are used in Maggie's Irish Crème formulations. Organically grown ingredients (that is, without chemicals or pesticides) are always our first choice and used where available. Most of our ingredients are naturally odorless. Some may have a faint natural scent, such as sunflower oil or cocoa butter. We have chosen not to use ingredients that have been chemically deodorized to remove those natural scents. Most natural scents/odors/fragrances in our world are quite harmless and enjoyable. We love the scent of a new baby or the attraction pheromones of our "significant other", cookies baking, "fresh" air (where it is still available) and the heady scent of spring flowers. For most people these natural scents are safe, but for those with sensitivities and/or allergies, they may pose health problems. Skunk spray is another natural scent, generally considered harmless, but is extremely unpleasant. The smell of noxious fumes can send us a warning that we are about to be in harm's way. Some noxious fumes have been deodorized to smell pleasant, but they remain just as deadly and should be avoided. Synthetic fragrances, abundant in many products on the market, contain chemicals that may be unsafe for many people. Again, it is important to read labels and to fully understand the ingredients in the products you are purchasing. For those who are scent intolerant, even to natural scents, we suggest trying our trial sizes to determine which formulation is compatible with your individual needs.

Apricot Kernel Oil {Prunus Armeniaca}   A light, rich, non-greasy, emollient, easily absorbed oil good for all skin types especially delicate, dry, dehydrated, sensitive, inflamed and prematurely aging skin. Derived from the seed of the apricot, is rich in Vitamin A, and contains olein, glyceride of linoleic acid and amygladin. Softens and protects.

Avocado Oil {Parsea Americana}   A medium to heavy, ultra-rich, highly therapeutic, easily absorbed oil that is particularly prized for dry, flaky, problem skin, as well as, eczema, and psoriasis. Extracted from the flesh of the avocado, it is nutrient-laden with waxes, amino acids, pantothenic acid, lecithin, Vitamins A, B1, B2, D, E, phytosterols, carotenoids and proteins. Softens and protects.

Jojoba Oil {Simmondsia Californica (or Chinensis)}   Not really an oil, but a liquid wax, Jojoba is good for all skin types, deeply penetrative, easily absorbed with anti-oxidant properties, rich in Vitamin E and may extend the life of skin care products. Derived from the Jojoba bean, it is very similar to human sebum, our own body oil secretion. High in essential fatty acids, plant wax, protein, minerals and, also, myristic acid, which has anti-inflammatory properties. Good for eczema, psoriasis, dry, dehydrated, inflamed skin and may help with windburn, sunburn, chaffed skin, bruises, dry brittle hair and wrinkles.

Olive Oil {Olio Europaea}   Olive oil has been regarded as the "beauty oil." It is contended to be good for our bodies both inside and out and is a thick, very rich, highly penetrative, emollient which attracts moisture to the skin, while still allowing it to do its normal functions of sweating and shedding Derived from the pulp of the olive it is a natural anti-oxidant with flavonoid polyphenols, carotene, oleic and linoleic fatty acids, high levels of Vitamin E and K and vitamins A, B1, B2, C and D.  Good for dry, inflamed skin, nails, hair, has nutritional value, healing properties and is said to have anti-wrinkle benefit. May work as a light sunscreen.

Sunflower Oil {Helianthus annus}   A very light textured, emollient good for all skin types. Derived from the seed of the sunflower, it is a wealthy oleic oil with high amounts of Vitamins A, D, and E, beneficial amounts of lecithin, and unsaturated fatty acids. Deeply nourishing and conditioning for the skin and is highly recommended in formulations designed to treat dry, weathered, mature and damaged skin.

Beeswax {Apis Melliferas}   100% pure beeswax, refined using unbleached filter paper, wood based charcoal, and natural clays. This process ensures a natural product that is free of residual chemicals and other impurities. Free of petroleum based ingredients and additives. Highly filtered beeswax has very little natural scent.

Cocoa Butter {Theobroma Cacao}   A naturally occurring fat derived from the Cacao bean seed with emollient properties. It is said to soften skin and help treat and prevent stretch marks. Plus it has the faint natural, delicious smell of chocolate!

Water   Only purified water is used in our product line.
